The goal of the course is to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively manage a medical emergency, improve patient outcomes, and potentially save lives.
The course covers a range of topics, including:
-The chain of survival for cardiac arrest patients
-The assessment of the patient's condition
-CPR techniques for adults, children, and infants
-The use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
-The recognition and management of choking
-The identification and management of breathing and circulation emergencies
The duration of this in-person course is 2 hours. Upon completion of the course, the credentials earned lasts for a year; after which, the Recertification course must be taken.
This course meets the WSIB standards.
